Sybiha, Blinken sign USD 825M assistance agreement for Ukraine’s energy system

Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrii Sybiha, and U.S. Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, signed a memorandum of understanding between the governments of Ukraine and the United States on coeration to enhance the resilience of Ukraine's energy system.

This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, according to Ukrinform.

The memorandum provides for the possibility of U.S. assistance amounting to up to USD 825 million.

The document establishes a legal framework for improving the resilience of Ukraine's energy system, including the restoration of critical infrastructure, the introduction of distributed energy generation, reforming the energy sector, and facilitating the post-war transition to a low-carbon, competitive economy integrated with Eure.

As reported earlier, a two-day meeting of NATO foreign ministers began in Brussels today. One of the key issues on the agenda is increasing support for Ukraine and countering hybrid attacks by Russia and other authoritarian regimes against NATO countries.

As part of this meeting, the Ukraine-NATO Council convened today with the participation of Ukraine's Foreign Minister, Andrii Sybiha.
