Spring sowing in 2025 in Ukraine is 16.7% faster than in the previous year: 250.4 thousand hectares of spring crops have been sown in 19 regions
, barley – 133.5 thousand hectares (45.2 thousand hectares), peas – 57 thousand hectares (17.8 thousand hectares), oats – 16.9 thousand hectares (7.2 thousand hectares).</p>
<p> Over the last week alone, Ukrainian farmers have sown 167.4 thousand hectares of grain and legume crops.</p>
<p> The leaders in sowing rates were: Nikolaev region – 43 thousand hectares of spring crops, including 1,500 hectares of wheat, 22.5 thousand hectares of barley, 18.7 thousand hectares of peas, 300 hectares of oats; Ternopil region – 6.4 thousand hectares of wheat, 21.3 thousand hectares of barley, 2.1 thousand hectares of peas, 1.5 thousand hectares of oats; Kirovohrad region – 900 hectares of wheat, 14.5 thousand hectares of barley, 10.5 thousand hectares of peas; Vinnytsia region – 5.6 thousand hectares of wheat, 12.3 thousand hectares of barley, 5.3 thousand hectares of peas, 900 hectares of oats; Rivne region – 500 hectares of wheat, 10.7 thousand hectares of barley; 700 hectares of peas and 3300 hectares of oats.</p>
<p> The Ministry confirmed that the total planned area for sowing spring grain and legume crops in 2025 is more than 5.7 million hectares, which is the same as in 2024. The main feature of the new season is the increase in spring wheat sowing by 28% to 222.8 thousand hectares, which is due to stable demand from processors and exporters.</p>
<p> As of March 21, 2024, 214.5 thousand hectares of spring crops were sown in Ukraine in 20 regions, including 53.1 thousand hectares of peas, 117.3 thousand hectares of barley, 29 thousand hectares of wheat and 10.6 thousand hectares of oats.</p>
