Some US oil and gas companies provide $60 mln to support Ukrainian citizens affected by Russian aggression

A number of well-known U.S. oil and gas companies have announced that they will provide a total of $60 million in financial support to organizations providing assistance to Ukraine in connection with Russia's invasion of its territory, in particular to refugees.

Devon Energy and Pioneer Natural Resources announced today a pledge of up to $20 million each to support humanitarian efforts in Ukraine and neighboring countries supporting Ukrainian refugees.

According to a report of Devon Energy, these donations will be split among several organizations providing emergency medical care, food supplies, financial support, and housing for displaced civilians and refugees in the region.

"We heard Ukrainian President Zelensky's call for help in his address to the American people and are stepping up… Russia's unprovoked invasion has led to a humanitarian crisis in Ukraine that calls upon the global community — governments, businesses, and individuals — to act in solidarity," President and CEO Rick Muncrief said.

Chief Executive Officer of Pioneer Natural Resources Scott D. Sheffield said that Pioneer and its employees are proud to support their friends in Ukraine.

Diamondback Energy, Inc. and Civitas Resources, Inc. announced a $10 million commitment each to support various non-profit entities that have risen to meet the humanitarian needs of the people of Ukraine displaced by the Russian invasion of their country.

"These donations are being made to help the millions of men, women, and children who have had to leave their homes as a result of this unjust war and will go to organizations that are giving direct care and comfort to the people of Ukraine in this time of great need," Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Diamondback Travis Stice said.

"As Civitas is committed to responsible global citizenship, we feel compelled to provide resources to those most impacted by the senseless invasion of Ukraine," Civitas Chairman and Interim Chief Executive Officer Ben Dell said.
