September’s Inflation: 0.3%, Annual Rate Dips to 11.9% – Stats Agency

Following a two-month period of reduction by 0.2%, consumer prices across Ukraine experienced an upswing of 0.3% during September, as indicated by the State Statistics Service via their official webpage on Thursday.
The statistical organization highlighted that the increase in consumer prices in September of 2024 was 1.5%, thereby, regarding the yearly figures, the inflation rate at September’s conclusion this year has diminished consecutively for the fourth month – landing at 11.9%, a decrease from August’s 13.2%, July’s 14.1%, and June’s 14.3%, after peaking locally at 15.9% at May’s close.
It is brought to attention that core inflation saw an increase to 1.3% in September 2025, up from 0.5% registered in September and 0.3% in July. Nevertheless, considering the 1.7% figure recorded in September 2024, the year-on-year core inflation eased off to 11.0% in the past month, dropping from 11.4% in August, 11.7% in July, 12.1% in June, and 12.3% in May.
It was communicated that the NBU, in July, revised its inflation projection downwards for the current year for the third instance, moving from 8.7% to 9.7%. The expectation was also set for inflation to lessen by the close of the third quarter, going from 14.3% to 13.1%. Furthermore, the National Bank adjusted its inflation outlook downwards for the upcoming year, from 5% to 6.7%.
Inflation within Ukraine, having dropped to 5.1% in 2023 subsequent to a surge to 26.6% the prior year, grew to reach 12% by the end of 2024.
