On Monday, March 9, the co-founder of monobank posted a photo of a client on social media, taken during a video identification. Oleg Gorokhovsky accused the girl of being pro-Russian because of the flag hanging behind her back.
What does the National Bank say about the scandal?
Now the National Bank of Ukraine is demanding explanations regarding the publication. This is stated in the regulator's response to the request of “Ekonomichna Pravda”.
The National Bank, within the framework of its consumer protection and supervision functions, is analyzing the circumstances of the situation, and has already requested an explanation from Monobank regarding the circumstances of the dissemination of information that may constitute banking secrecy.
They emphasized that they will be able to assess Gorokhovsky's actions only after receiving a response and verifying all the circumstances. Until then, they will not comment on the situation.
If, during supervisory actions, a bank violates the requirements of the law or regulatory legal acts of the National Bank, the regulator may apply the measures of influence provided for by law to the bank,
