PM Shmyhal: Ukraine expects to counter $38B budget deficit with support from partners
"The budget deficit is generally known: $38 billion for next year. In fact, today we have pitical promises and already approved 17 billion euros from the Eurean Commission, from the Eurean Union. We also have pledges from the United States of America in the amount of 9.8 billion dlars. We also work with the IMF, with which we already have a monitoring program. And no later than the first quarter, we he to receive a large financial program, which will also be a significant financial support for Ukraine, which will allow us to completely counter the entire budget deficit in 2023," Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said at a joint briefing with Prime Minister of Mdova Natalia Gavrilița, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
He noted that now the Ukrainian authorities are actively working on this issue with international financial organizations and institutions, with the G7.
As reported, the State Budget for 2023 foresees more than UAH 1 trillion for financing the army, other key expenses are pensions, healthcare and education.
According to the estimates of the Ministry of Finance, the monthly deficit of the budget will amount to $3-4 billion next year.
