Over 20% of Ukraine’s arable land temporarily occupied – agrarian picy minister
Over 20% of Ukraine's arable land is temporarily occupied by Russian forces.
Minister of Agrarian Picy and Food Myka Sskyi announced this at a press briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
"Now, nearly over 20% of arable land is not under the contr of Ukraine – these areas of land are under occupation," he said.
Sskyi added that the areas where winter wheat and corn, as well as sunflower were mainly sown remain occupied. The minister emphasized that these lands are also contaminated with mines.
As reported by Ukrinform, according to preliminary estimates of the Ministry of Agrarian Picy, more than 1 million hectares of soil in Ukraine was affected by Russia’s full-scale invasion.
