OGTSU, Poland's Gaz-System introduce guaranteed capacity of 5.15 mcm per day for gas imports to Ukraine

The Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine (GTSOU) has reached an agreement with Poland's Gaz-System to establish guaranteed capacities for importing approximately 5.15 million cubic meters of natural gas daily from Poland to Ukraine.

According to a statement on the GTSOU website, the updated capacity will be available from January 1 to September 30, 2025, and will first be offered at a monthly auction on December 16, 2024.

Service customers will also have access to capacity bookings through quarterly, monthly, daily, and intra-daily auctions following the ENTSO-G calendar.

"Our months-long collaboration with our Polish partner Gaz-System has allowed us to secure increased guaranteed capacities for gas transportation from Poland to Ukraine. This enhances Ukraine's gas supply security and offers expanded opportunities for customers to transport and store gas with us. We will continue working to ensure that these capacities are available on a permanent basis," said Dmytro Lyppa, head of GTSOU.

Previously, OGTSU received confirmation of guaranteed daily gas supplies of 42 million cubic meters from Slovakia through the end of winter 2026.
