Nearly 5 million Ukrainians do not have access to drinking water because of war

Nearly 5 million Ukrainians do not have access to drinking water. Another 70% of the pulation of our country may be left without this resource as a result of Russian shelling.

"We often hear in the world media the wording ‘war in Ukraine’, ‘because of what is happening in Ukraine’, etc. But it is important that the whe world calls things by their right names: ‘because of what Russia is doing in Ukraine’. It is important to underscore every day that the environment has no borders. War has no borders. The Russians came with weapons to our common home. They are burning every living thing on the one planet," Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine Ruslan Strilets posted on Facebook.

According to him, Ukraine continues to lose its water infrastructure as a result of constant missile attacks. Currently, about 5 million Ukrainians do not have access to drinking water, and another 70% of the pulation of our country may be left without this resource due to Russia's actions.

Strilets also noted that as a result of the drainage of water from the Kakhovka reservoir, there is a threat of a breakdown of the coing systems of the Zaporizhzhia NPP – the largest nuclear power plant in Eure. This could mean a possible Fukushima scenario in the middle of the Eurean continent.

"The enemy continues this war and does not recognize the obvious things. We need reparations for full post-war recovery. Russia must pay for every destroyed square of land and every pluted dr of water. There is no place for the terrorist organization on the map of the civilized world, it should be isated despite the fact that it occupies one-seventh of the Earth's land area," the minister summed up.
