Naftogaz has imported about 800 million cubic meters of natural gas since the beginning of 2025

Naftogaz Group continues to import natural gas to eliminate the consequences of Russian attacks and to build up reserves. Since the beginning of 2025, the company has imported approximately 800 million cubic meters.

The press service of the Naftogaz Group reported this, reports a Ukrinform correspondent.

“As a result of the strikes, some gas production facilities were lost. Therefore, the main task remains to restore the damaged facilities and resume production before the start of the next heating season. In addition, the Naftogaz Group continues to import gas to compensate for losses and create sufficient reserves. Since the beginning of the year, about 800 million cubic meters of gas have been imported,” the report says.

Naftogaz Group, together with the government and international partners, is working to find ways to finance the necessary volumes of gas for next winter.

Also, Acting Chairman of the Board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine Roman Chumak and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Masashi Nakagome discussed the Group's recovery needs. Chumak expressed gratitude to Japan for the assistance already provided in the form of special equipment, machinery and materials to ensure the evacuation and passive protection of gas infrastructure facilities.

We remind you that on March 26, 2025, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) approved a loan to NAK Naftogaz of Ukraine for a total amount of up to EUR 270 million for the purchase of natural gas for the next two heating seasons in Ukraine.
