MODUS X controls 25% of the Ukrainian energy market and attracted 14 new clients outside of DTEK in 2024 – CEO

IT company MODUS X, formed in late 2022 after being spun off from energy group DTEK, currently owns at least 25% of shares in Ukraine's energy sector, CEO Dmytro Osyka said.

“DTEK, our main client, operates in various energy sectors… We have significant experience in this area, covering almost all of its segments. Considering that DTEK's share in the energy sector of Ukraine is 30-35%, our share as an IT company in this area is at least 25%,” Osyka noted in an exclusive interview with the Interfax-Ukraine agency.

According to him, MODUS X began entering international markets (outside DTEK clients) in March 2024. It is too early to characterize significant market shares, but by the end of 2024, the company had already attracted 14 clients outside DTEK.

“Due to confidentiality agreements (NDAs) or ongoing projects, we cannot disclose specific company names. However, our clients include large Ukrainian enterprises in such areas as retail, banking, automotive distribution, agribusiness and food production. We continue to attract new clients this year,” Osyka added.

He clarified that MODUS X aims to standardize its approach to working with both external and internal clients.

“This is a classic strategy for an IT company, which changes the perception of us within DTEK. Now we are seen as a completely different company with a modern approach. For example, we have significantly increased the loyalty index (NPS) among internal clients. We regularly measure it and compare it with competitors, and over the past year we have managed to improve NPS by 40%,” the CEO emphasized.

Osyka emphasized that NPS is the most important indicator of the competitiveness of IT companies in the market.

“Frankly speaking, it is impossible to succeed if your NPS is below the market average – such companies are always perceived as second-rate, and customers tend to choose competitors. In other words, maintaining a high NPS is a fundamental necessity,” he concluded.
