KMW (KNDS Deutschland), Ukrainian defense enterprise open JV – Smetanin

Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine Herman Smetanin has announced the official opening of a joint venture between KMW (KNDS Deutschland) and a Ukrainian defense company.

"The newly established company will specialize in the maintenance and repair of military equipment supplied by the German company to the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The first samples of this equipment appeared in Ukraine back in 2022," he said on the Telegram channel Tuesday.

According to the minister, Ukrainian specialists have already been trained in Germany and the first systems have already been installed at the facilities. He thanked Germany for its leadership in the creation of joint ventures and for trust in the Ukrainian defense industry.

"Thank you to the partners from KNDS for their willingness to cooperate with the Ukrainian defense industry. This is extremely important for our defense capability, because now the equipment will be repaired faster. And thus, it will be returned to the front for combat missions faster," Smetanin said.

According to him, the work of the joint venture will also significantly support Ukraine's economy with investments and jobs.
