The water producer “Karpatska Dzherelna” is facing a fine from the Antimonopoly Committee. The whole problem is in the label, which depicts the Ukrainian Carpathians.
Why is the producer of “Karpatska Dzherelna” being fined?
The company could have deceived Ukrainians by displaying false information on the label, the AMCU reported.
The bottles of “Karpatska Dzherelna” from 0.5 to 2 liters and “SPORT” water depicted mountains, fir trees, birds, and a map marked “Karpaty”. This could have been used to create the impression that the water originated from the Ukrainian Carpathians.
For a violation that could mislead buyers, the AMCU proposes to fine Carpathian Mineral Waters LLC up to 5% of sales revenue for 2025. The company will also be forced to change the misleading label design.
Note! The company's first plant operates in the village of Strutyn, Zolochiv district, Lviv region. Water production began in 1996, initially it was a soft drinks shop of the state distillery. In 2002, it was reorganized into a mineral water production plant.
