IMF to decide on next tranche for Ukraine on Dec 20

The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund will meet next Friday, December 20, to consider the results of the Sixth Review of the Extended Fund Facility and allocate the next loan tranche for Ukraine.

The Fund’s official confirmed this to Ukrinform’s own correspondent on Thursday.

As noted by the IMF, the flowing issues were submitted to the meeting on December 20: sixth review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF), request for a change in the performance criteria, and verification of financing guarantees.

It is expected that the Fund’s Board will decide on the allocation of the next tranche to Ukraine of up to $1.1 billion. If the decision passes, this will increase the total amount that Ukraine will have received under the EFF to $9.8 billion.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on November 19, Ukraine and the IMF reached a staff-level agreement on the sixth review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF). The 48-month program has been in effect since March 2023. It provides for the possibility of allocating up to $15.5 billion in loans to Ukraine.
