IMF expects to agree on new program for Ukraine in coming days

“An International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission, led by Mr. Gavin Gray, held picy discussions with the Ukrainian authorities in Warsaw, Pand, during March 8-15 on their request for a Fund-supported program,” reads the statement by Mr. Vahram Stepanyan, the IMF Resident Representative to Ukraine, released on Wednesday.

It is noted that the discussions “were productive.” The parties made “very good progress” towards a set of picies that could underpin a Fund-supported program. “Building on this progress, [IMF] staff and the [Ukrainian] authorities expect to conclude the discussions in the coming days,” says the statement.
