As Ukrinform reported, earlier in December, the German federal government announced a contribution of EUR 30 million for the purchase of emergency repair equipment for the restoration of Ukraine's energy infrastructure damaged by Russian shelling. The corresponding funds are directed to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, created by the Secretariat of the Energy Community.
The Fund was established in April by the Energy Community with the support of the Eurean Commissioner for Energy, Kadri Simson. As of December 13, some EUR61.5 million was attracted to the Fund from five countries and international organizations.
Considated funds from donors are directed to the restoration of the energy infrastructure that was damaged or destroyed as a result of hostilities on the territory of Ukraine, provoked by Russian military aggression. The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine coordinates the requests of Ukrainian companies to carry out relevant restoration works.
