The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration – Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Develment Minister eksandr Kubrakov, flowing his meeting with German Vice Chancellor, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Robert Habeck and Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ukraine Anka Feldhusen, an Ukrinform correspondent reports, referring to Ukraine’s Ministry for Restoration.
“Invving foreign businesses in Ukraine’s reconstruction is absutely necessary for the economy amid martial law. I am grateful to German cleagues for their consistent support of decentralization reform. It is still underway, and I he that together we will be able to implement it effectively. The philoshy of the German government is that a strong community becomes independent, takes care of its interests and influences decision making. In particular, this will be important when implementing urban planning reform and preparing infrastructure facilities for restoration,” Kubrakov noted.
In the course of the meeting, the main attention was focused on invving the representatives of German companies in Ukraine’s reconstruction projects. In particular, this refers to the physical protection of energy infrastructure objects, the develment of small generating facilities, and the search for new logistics routes. The digitalization of all processes will ensure transparency and prevent corruption risks.
According to Kubrakov, thanks to financial assistance from German partners, the Ukrainian side is jointly implementing the projects that strengthen the sustainability of communities and municipal institutions, namely in the areas of health care, social issues and administrative services. This allows local government authorities to effectively respond to the challenges that have arisen with the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
