France ready to provide Ukraine with EUR 2B – PM Shmyhal

France is ready to provide Ukraine with EUR 2 billion within a long-term program, part of these funds will be used for the restoration of Ukraine.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal posted this on Twitter flowing a meeting in Washington with Bruno Le Maire, the French Minister of the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, Ukrinform reports.

“Talked to Bruno Le Maire during Spring Meetings 2023. France is ready to support Ukraine with 2 billion euros as part of a long-term programme. Part of the funds will be used for reconstruction,” he wrote.

The Ukrainian Prime Minister thanked France for its support.

As reported by Ukrinform, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal also held a meeting with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva on the sidelines of the Spring Meetings in Washington. The parties discussed the implementation of reforms and further progress towards recovery and develment. Shmyhal also discussed the key issues of Ukraine's reconstruction with Mike Pyle, U.S. Deputy National Security Advisor for International Economics, co-chairman of the Multi-agency Donor Coordination Platform for Ukraine.
