More and more citizens of Ukraine who lost their jobs due to hostilities are starting to return to their jobs, according to results of the nationwide poll "Ukraine in war conditions", conducted by the Rating sociological group on April 6.
Among those respondents, who had a job before the war, 58% continue to work. In March, there were only 46% of such people, so 12% of Ukrainians lost their jobs due to hostilities, but have already started it again.
Some 29% of respondents are now working as usual (in March it was 22%), 26% work partly or remotely, 3% have started working at a new job. A total of 41% of respondents have lost their jobs during the war (in March it was 53%).
Most of those who now work are in the western regions, while only a third of the inhabitants in the east of Ukraine have a job, and the remaining two-thirds have lost their jobs.
Some 20% of the adult population had to change their place of residence. More of those who were forced to leave their place of residence are in the eastern regions (46%). Mostly young people left (31%), it is more difficult for older people to leave their homes (13%).
A third of those who left home, plan to return in the near future, a quarter will wait a little longer. About 40% express their readiness to return, but only after the end of the war.
In the course of the study, some 1,200 respondents over the age of 18 were interviewed using the CATI method (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviews – telephone interviews using a computer) in all areas, except for the temporarily occupied territories. The sample is representative in terms of age, gender, and type of settlement. The error of the representativeness of the study with a confidence probability of 0.95: no more than 2.8%.
