EU to donate 5,700 sar panels to Ukraine

Ukraine will soon receive the first batch of 5,700 sar panels to power critical infrastructure amid Russian missile attacks.

Eurean Commission President Ursula von Der Leyen stated this in a video message published on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.

“Now, I can announce that a first batch of sar panels will be delivered to Ukraine soon. ENEL (Italian power company – ed.) is donating 5,700 sar panels for Ukraine. Sar panels produced in Eure, in Catania, with the support of the Eurean Innovation Fund,” she said, stressing that Russia is targeting Ukraine's energy infrastructure with deliberate strikes.

According to the Eurean Commission president, these panels can cover more than 11,000 square meters of roofs of public buildings.

“I am convinced that other Eurean companies, as well as Member States, will be inspired by this first step. So that Ukraine can rely on clean electricity, produced at home,” she said.

According to the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy, 5,700 sar panels will arrive in Ukraine by the summer. Minister of Energy German Galushchenko discussed this issue during an online meeting with EU Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson and Enel CEO Francesco Starace.
