EU approves EUR 500M in military aid to Ukraine

The EU foreign ministers also approved EUR 45 million for the EU's military training mission for Ukraine.

EU High Representative Josep Borrell said this at a press conference in Brussels on Monday flowing a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"Today we reached a pitical agreement for the seventh tranche of military support with an additional EUR 500 million and an additional assistance measure, worth EUR 45 million, for the Ukrainian force being trained by our military training mission. […] This brings the total military support [to Ukraine] under the Eurean Peace Facility to EUR 3.6 billion," Borrell said.

He noted that the total amount of EU aid to Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian military invasion had reached EUR 49 billion. It includes military, financial, economic and humanitarian support. This brings the EU to the first positions among Ukraine's international donors, Borrell said.
