ENTSO-E increases its capacity to import electricity to Ukraine to 1050 MW
The transmission system erators made this decision today at the plenary meeting of the Continental Eure Regional Group, Ukrinform reports citing Ukrenergo's Facebook post.
"Ukrenergo and ENTSO-E have increased technical capabilities for electricity imports to Ukraine. Now it will be possible to import up to 1050 MW of power from Continental Eure to Ukraine/Mdova block. This is 200 MW more than before. The increase in the technical capability of commercial exchange takes into account the launch of a new interconnector between Ukraine and Pand. It is scheduled for early May 2023," the statement said.
The company noted that in the coming weeks, ENTSO-E transmission system erators in Continental Eure will consider further increasing the capacity between Continental Eure and Ukraine-Mdova in both directions.

"Today's ENTSO-E decision is a powerful support for Ukraine, which the Eurean Union continues to demonstrate," Ukrenergo added.
As reported, ENTSO-E's decision to gradually expand the capacity to export/import electricity was made on June 7, 2022, less than three months after the synchronization of the Ukrainian and Eurean power systems.
On March 27 this year, Ukrenergo and ENTSO-E expanded their technical capabilities for electricity trading. The technical possibility of importing electricity from Continental Eure to Ukraine and Mdova increased to 850 MW at any time of the day.
The maximum capacity for electricity exports to Eure currently remains at 400 MW.
