Energy facilities damaged in six regions after Russia’s recent missile and drone attack

Russia’s recent massive missile and drone attack has caused damage to energy facilities in six regions of Ukraine. Emergency blackouts are now in effect across most regions.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Unfortunately, thermal and hydro power facilities were struck, as well as high-vtage infrastructure, in six regions. Emergency power outages were introduced across many regions. The most challenging situation is in the Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv and Khmelnytskyi regions,” Galushchenko wrote.

Meanwhile, thanks to the successful eration of anti-aircraft defense systems and preventive technical measures, the integrity of Ukraine’s energy system was preserved.

According to Galushchenko, power engineers are working to restore power supply services.

A reminder that, on February 10, 2023, Russia launched another massive attack on the territory of Ukraine, using missiles and drones. Energy objects were reported hit in eastern, southern and western Ukraine.
