Deputy Defence Ministers and Rheinmetall delegation discuss development of joint projects

This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, according to information from Ukrinform.

The report states that Rheinmetall Landsystem GmbH was one of the first companies to localize production in Ukraine.

The main topics of discussion were the development of joint projects aimed at improving the capabilities of the Ukrainian army.

During the conversation, issues of the work of joint Ukrainian-German enterprises for the repair and maintenance of foreign military equipment, as well as the possibility of training Ukrainian specialists in the maintenance of weapons and military equipment with the involvement of partners, were discussed.

“Ukraine is interested in deepening cooperation with its allies in the defense industry. New technologies and production capacities are critical for Ukraine in light of modern threats. We are grateful to our German partners for their support in strengthening the technical capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and developing our defense industry. Localization of defense enterprises in Ukraine and production of modern weapons at a high technological level remain the most important priorities for strengthening the defense capability of our country,” Churkin noted.

The parties also exchanged views on further expansion of cooperation in the defense sector.

As previously reported, Rheinmetall is ready to offer its products for a potential peacekeeping mission in Ukraine.
