Decarbonization Fund expects to generate about UAH 1.75B in 2025
The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving First Deputy Head Mariia Malaia in a commentary to Ukrinform.
“This year it was supposed to be UAH 700 million, but we have received around UAH 1.4 billion in revenues from the carbon tax. A total of UAH 1.75 billion has already been provided in the state budget for the next year,” Malaia explained.
In her words, the Decarbonization Fund has stable funding that does not depend on the state budget reallocations.
“We are planning to expand. First of all, we have high hes for the financial leasing programme, under which communities or businesses will be immediately receiving equipment to implement projects,” Malaia noted.
According to her, there are already prosals from Western partners to provide energy efficiency equipment on preferential terms.
For the public sector, the grant programme is expected to be launched in 2025. This refers to government bodies and institutions subordinated to them, such as libraries, higher educational institutions, etc.
A reminder that Decarbonization Fund JSC had provided support for more than 30 projects since it was launched to increase energy efficiency in communities and enterprises. The first preferential loan was provided by the Decarbonization Fund on September 27, 2024.
