Ukrainians continue to buy new cars – and this is most noticeable in several regions. In January, new passenger cars were most actively dismantled in Kyiv, as well as in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Odessa regions.

These regions accounted for 59% of all new car sales for the month, writes Ukravtoprom.
The capital is traditionally ahead: 1,571 new cars were registered in Kyiv in January. The Kyiv region is also keeping pace – 486 cars were registered here. Next on the list are the Dnipropetrovsk region – 356 new cars, the Kharkiv region – 350, and 278 cars found their owners in the Odessa region.
What brands do they choose:
- In Kyiv and the Kharkiv region , the Toyota RAV-4 crossover has become a favorite – the model has long been in stable demand;
- In Kyiv and Odessa regions, Renault Duster – a practical and relatively affordable SUV – was more often preferred;
- In the Dnipropetrovsk region, the BYD Leopard 3 electric car broke into the leaders.

In 2025, 504 cars subject to the “luxury tax” were imported into Ukraine, which is the lowest figure in the last 5 years. Porsche and Mercedes-Benz dominate the luxury vehicle segment, and electric cars account for 65% of all “luxury” cars.
