Canada expands sanctions against Russia

Canada announced sanctions against 10 Russian individuals and 21 organizations, including paramilitary groups, that support Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

This became known from a statement by the office of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who took part in the summit of EU leaders in London dedicated to Ukraine, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“During the Securing Our Future summit, the Prime Minister announced new sanctions against 10 individuals and 21 entities, including paramilitary groups and their leaders, in an effort to reduce Russia’s reliance on foreign entities and states to achieve its political and military objectives in Ukraine,” the department said.

“To date, Canada has sanctioned more than 3,000 individuals and entities involved in Russian aggression, and we continue to work with our partners to increase economic pressure on Russia,” Trudeau’s office said.
