In times of constant shelling of the power system and electricity shortages, businesses need to attract more funds to be able to operate. For this, Ukraine has a program called “Affordable Loans 5 – 7 – 9%”, which was expanded in January 2026.
How have the terms of business loans changed?
The Affordable Loans program has been expanded to increase the energy sustainability of businesses, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced.
The maximum loan amount for energy efficiency and energy independence has been increased from 150 to 250 million hryvnias.
Cogeneration units have also been added to the list of equipment for which loans can be taken. This way, businesses will be able to attract more funds for installing distributed generation.
Please note! Funds can also be used to purchase solar panels, install wind turbines, energy storage systems, gas piston, gas turbine and biogas generation plants.
How to participate in the “Affordable Loans” program?
- First of all, choose a participating bank from among 46 institutions, including state-owned ones;
- Next, open an account at the selected bank for the individual or legal entity of the entrepreneur;
- Contact your bank and apply for a loan. You will need to provide all the necessary documents such as business information, financial statements, passport, etc.;
- Define lending goals.
Payment to individual entrepreneurs for generators

Individual entrepreneurs of groups 2 and 3 who work in socially important areas – catering establishments, pharmacies, coffee shops, grocery stores, bakeries and other essential establishments and services – will be able to receive a one-time payment of UAH 7,500 to UAH 15,000.

The funds can be spent on the purchase and repair of energy equipment, fuel for generators, and payment for electricity services.

The amount of payment for generators depends on the number of employees, provided that there is at least one employee. Application is submitted through the Diya portal.
