Paper mill in Obukhiv stopped work due to Russian attack / rau.ua
The Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill reported shelling by the “Shaheds” on April 3, 2026. Because of this, the company had to stop its operations, which jeopardizes the supply of a well-known brand of toilet paper.
What is known about the shutdown of the plant in Obukhiv?
The production process at the enterprise's facilities was stopped for safety reasons and to eliminate the consequences, the Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill reported.
Our plant is an enterprise that produces exclusively consumer goods for the civilian population and is in no way connected with military infrastructure, defense complex facilities, or military orders. An attack on such facilities is an attack on civilian industry and the provision of basic household needs of ordinary Ukrainians,
– the company writes.
Such a move would jeopardize the supply of important goods:
- toilet paper “Obukhov 65”;
- “Divo” product line;
- other sanitary and hygienic products and corrugated packaging.
It is known that the plant's management and relevant services are currently continuously monitoring the situation.
Why did Russia extend the attack over night and day?
Previously, in most regions, massive strikes were mostly carried out at night: the alert began late in the evening and ended in the morning.
Former SBU employee Ivan Stupak suggested on Channel 24 that such a prolonged attack might not have been accidental. According to him, the Russians could have deliberately struck for longer in order to put pressure not only on civilians but also on the exhaustion of Ukrainian air defenses.
This time, the attack was stretched out for almost half a day – from approximately 11 pm to 11 am. Such a duration breaks the usual rhythm of air defense work, because after a night raid there is no time to calmly recharge, check the complexes, and simply recover a little.
The calculation, as far as I'm concerned, was also based on the human factor. That our operators, for example, air defense fighters, are tired. A 12-hour shift is extremely hard work,
– Stupak suggested.
This is an attempt to pressure not only by the number of targets, but also by attrition. When the attack does not end by morning, people work without much pause, and in such conditions the enemy is counting on fatigue, delayed reaction and a mistake at a critical moment. The Russians seem to be trying to use not only the capabilities of their weapons, but also the limit of human endurance of those who hold the sky.
They expect that people will get tired, the human factor will work, someone will not have time to press the button – and the rocket or drone will fly to where they need to,
– he said.
The rhythm of the blows is adjusted to such an attack: not allowing you to exhale, not allowing you to switch to a normal daily routine, and keeping the tension longer than before.
