Anti-graft watchdog: Russian research center owns rich salt deposits in Donbas

Institute for Nuclear Research, a Moscow-based research center associated with Russia’s Academy of Science, still holds a special permit on resource usage at the Artemovsk salt deposits in Ukraine’s Donbas, anti-graft watchdog StateWatch reported on Nov. 2.

Moreover, despite Russia waging war against Ukraine since 2014, the Russian institute has never been put on the sanctions list and formally banned from any activities in Ukraine, according to the statement.
