This photo taken in April 2021 shows a meeting between business representatives in the American Chamber of Commerce’s office in central Kyiv. The chamber, which boasts more than 600 members in Ukraine, is the biggest in Europe. It’s a positive sign for Andy Hunder, the president of the Chamber, but he also believes the lack of rule of law hurts Ukraine’s image abroad.
U.S. policymakers and businesses have been keen to keep Ukraine close since it broke free from the Soviet Union in 1991.
Still, the business relationship between the two, while solid, has room to grow.
