Agricultural exports account for more than 50% of all Ukrainian exports – Shmyhal

Agricultural exports exceed 50% of the total volume of Ukrainian exports, compared to March 2024, this parameter has increased by 4.5%, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said during a government meeting on Friday.

In his message on Telegram, he noted that “the export of agricultural products remains the basis of our trade and accounts for more than 50% of everything that Ukraine sends abroad.”

Shmyhal also added that last year, the export of Ukrainian goods increased by 13%, and in March of this year, the positive trend of export growth continued – plus 4.5% compared to March of last year.

“In the context of global trade instability, the Ukrainian government will strengthen support for domestic producers and Ukrainian exporters. We have provided all necessary measures for this,” the Prime Minister emphasized.

He also recalled that the Made in Ukraine program includes, in particular, compensation in the amount of UAH 500 million for the purchase of Ukrainian agricultural machinery. The state reimburses farmers up to 25% of the cost of this machinery if it is produced in Ukraine.

“This year we will allocate more than UAH 6 billion from the budget to support the agricultural sector alone,” Shmyhal noted.

As reported, in March 2025, Ukraine exported 9.98 million tons of goods worth $3.6 billion.
