Agricultural exports remain one of the key sources of foreign exchange earnings for Ukraine, primarily due to grain and oilseed crops. At the same time, processing and higher value-added products are becoming increasingly important, reducing the country's dependence on raw material exports.

What products are exported the most?

In a commentary for Channel 24, Bohdan Dukhnytsky, an expert at the Institute of Agrarian Economics, said that traditionally the main products in the commodity structure of domestic agri-food exports are grain crops, oils and fats, oilseeds, food industry residues, meat and offal.

According to the results of 2025, these types of agricultural products, together with the combined group of dairy products, eggs, and honey, formed 86% of the value of foreign supplies.

In addition, before the full-scale Russian invasion, the dominant range of agricultural exports also consisted of grain and oilseed crops, vegetable oils, residues and waste, and various types of meat.

In 2023-2024, it was supplemented by sugar and confectionery products made from it, the sales of which brought in a fairly high revenue of $652 million in 2024,
– said Mr. Bogdan.

At the request of Channel 24, the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture explained in more detail that corn leads the export ranking with almost 18 million tons, and wheat is in second place – 13.6 million tons.

In 2023 and 2024, the structure of the TOP-5 positions by export volumes remained similar compared to 2025 in most positions, except for soybean export volumes in 2024, this position ranked 6th,
– the department says.

Instead, Svitlana Lytvyn, head of the analytical department of the Ukrainian Agricultural and Food Agency, provides data for Channel 24 on export revenue in 2025, where sunflower oil was in first place, and corn in second.

  • In 2025, sunflower oil sales were $5.2 billion,
  • Corn – $3.9 billion,
  • Wheat – $3 billion,
  • Soybeans – $1.3 billion,
  • Poultry meat – $1.1 billion.

As Ms. Svitlana explains, if we compare the results with the previous year, the first 3 places remain unchanged.

Soybean rose from 5th place in the ranking to 4th, with the same export revenue as last year. However, rapeseed dropped out of the ranking, with export revenue decreasing.

  • We remind you that back in March 2025, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reported that the key items of agricultural products exported included corn, sunflower oil, wheat, soybeans, and poultry meat.
  • However, in November of the same year, almost all categories of goods showed growth, according to the Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy. The largest increase was observed among grains (corn export) and oilseed cake (oilseed processing).
  • In general, the Ministry of Economy notes that Ukraine ranks second among the European Union countries in terms of grain production after France. And in corn production, it ranks first.

Record harvest and weak exports: Ukrainian peas under price pressure

  • In the 2025/26 season, pea production in Ukraine increased to 653 thousand tons, 40% more than last year.

  • Exports for the first half of the marketing year amounted to only 160 thousand tons, which is 34% less than the previous year, due to reduced demand from India, Turkey and slow development of exports to China.
