The United Nations Industrial Development Organization has signed grant agreements with 47 Japanese companies to implement projects in Ukraine. The initiative involves testing innovative technologies and training more than 30,000 Ukrainians.
The Japanese will introduce the latest technologies in Ukraine
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) has signed grant agreements with all 47 Japanese companies to conduct feasibility studies and test innovative technologies. New business models will also be implemented together with Ukrainian partners.
The project is being implemented within the framework of the flagship initiative “Green Industrial Recovery of Ukraine through Technology Transfer and New Enterprise Creation with Japanese Private Companies”. It is expected that more than 30,000 people in Ukraine will receive new professional skills, and 47 modern technologies will be tested, implemented or adapted in various industries.
According to UNIDO Deputy Director-General Yuko Yasunaga, the initiative will contribute to job creation, increased industrial competitiveness, development of new sectors and formation of innovation ecosystems. He noted that 47 Japanese technologies have already been selected for implementation in Ukraine.
What will Ukrainian farmers receive?
The Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine emphasizes that Ukrainian enterprises will gain access to advanced solutions, which will allow them to modernize production and strengthen their market positions. The project is financed by the Japanese government.
The initiative covers key areas, including agribusiness and food value chains, water infrastructure, circular economy, information and communication technologies, energy, hydrogen and ammonia, improving the productivity of small and medium-sized enterprises, supporting equipment, and telemedicine.
The Japanese side sees the project as an opportunity to involve small and medium-sized companies and startups in the reconstruction of Ukraine, using its experience, including in the field of disaster relief.
