The Global Dairy Trade dairy price index rose to $4,280 per ton on February 17. The increase has been ongoing for the fourth consecutive auction, indicating strengthening price trends on the global market.
Dairy prices are rising
According to the Union of Dairy Enterprises of Ukraine, the price index for dairy products at the latest Global Dairy Trade auctions increased by 3.6% to $4,030 per ton.
Price increases were recorded for a number of key items. In particular, butter rose by 10.87% to $6,350 per ton, milk fat by 3.8% to $6,750 per ton, and mozzarella cheese by 5.0% to $3,880 per ton.
Please note! Quotations for whole milk powder also increased – by 2.5% to 3,710 USD per ton and skim milk powder – by 3.0% to 2,970 USD per ton. At the same time, Cheddar cheese fell in price by 1.0% to 4,740 USD per ton.
Over the last 4 auctions, butter prices have increased by 26.6%, and skimmed milk powder prices have increased by 22.3%.
Important! In total, 22.2 thousand tons of dairy products were sold during the auction with the participation of 167 participants. The next Global Dairy Trade auction is scheduled for March 3.
