Ukraine has seen mixed price dynamics for vegetables and fruits over the past week. Potato prices have risen amid stronger demand, while some greenhouse products and berries have become cheaper.
Which vegetables have become more expensive in a week?
In Ukraine, the price of potatoes has started to increase (from 10-14 to 12-15 hryvnias per kilogram), which is associated with the revival of demand on the domestic market, EastFruit reports. At the same time, carrots (from 9-13 to 12-15 hryvnias per kilogram) and table beets (from 7-9 to 10-12 hryvnias per kilogram) were sold more expensively than a week earlier.
At the same time , white cabbage became cheaper (from 10-12 to 9-11 hryvnias per kilogram). A slight increase in the supply of cucumbers from local greenhouses forced sellers to revise prices downwards (from 140-180 to 120-170 hryvnias per kilogram), a similar trend was observed in the tomato market. (from 130 – 140 to 110 – 135 hryvnias per kilogram).
Peking cabbage , on the contrary, increased in price (from 25-30 to 25-35 hryvnias per kilogram), while green onions (from 200-220 to 135-145 hryvnias per kilogram) and lettuce (from 300-350 to 200-230 hryvnias per kilogram) became more affordable for buyers.
Please note! In the fruit and berry segment, a decrease in the price was recorded for garden strawberries , which became cheaper compared to the previous week (from 430 – 650 to 320 – 450 hryvnias per kilogram).

Prices for greenhouse cucumbers in Ukraine have decreased due to increased supply and decreased demand; they now cost 125-170 hryvnias per kilogram, which is 11% cheaper than last week.

In Ukrainian supermarkets, the prices for cucumbers are: Auchan – 189.90 UAH/kg, Metro – 175.76 UAH/kg, Megamarket – 225 UAH/kg, Varus – 219.90 UAH/kg, ATB – 219.89 UAH/kg, Silpo – 208.30 UAH/kg.
