Ukrainian chicken exporters will be subject to tighter control
Ukraine and Moldova held online talks on the situation with restrictions on imports of Ukrainian poultry meat, the Ministry of Economy reported. Representatives of the Moldovan line ministry and the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) took part in the meeting.
On the Ukrainian side, the negotiations were led by the Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture, Oleksiy Sobolev. According to him, Moldova is an important market for Ukrainian chicken: in 2025, exports amounted to eighteen thousand four hundred tons worth thirty-two million seven hundred thousand US dollars. Therefore, the temporary suspension of imports requires an urgent resolution.
During the meeting, the parties agreed to work on strengthening inspection control of Ukrainian exporters. Ukraine confirmed its readiness to provide additional guarantees of product quality, in particular by conducting research in accredited laboratories at the request of the Moldovan side.
The Minister emphasized that Ukrainian products meet international standards, which is confirmed by stable supplies to the European Union market. Following the negotiations, the parties agreed to continue joint work to eliminate technical barriers and resume full-fledged trade as soon as possible.
