How to get a grant from the state for a garden in 2026 / Collage of Channel 24
Starting your own garden, berry orchard, or vineyard is a promising business, but it is expensive. It requires considerable investment at the start, and such a business often brings the first profit only after a few years.
How to get a garden grant?
However, in Ukraine, entrepreneurs can use not only credit funds, but also try to get a grant from the state. Submitting an application online will take up to 20 minutes, but creating a project will take more time, writes the portal Diya.
The Ministry of Economy announced the resumption of non-refundable state aid to farmers, which is implemented within the framework of the budget program, at the beginning of 2026.
In particular, a grant can be obtained for planting and developing a new garden, berry orchard, or vineyard with an area of 1 to 25 hectares .

The amount of assistance is up to 400 thousand hryvnias per 1 hectare , that is, its maximum amount is up to 10 million hryvnias.
Among the mandatory conditions – the land must be in your ownership or legal use for at least 7 years on the date of submission of the application, and the business entity must be registered in the information and communication system “State Agrarian Register”.
The list of available crops includes apple, pear, cherry, plum, peach and apricot, sea buckthorn, hazel and hazel, walnut, blueberry, raspberry, currant, gooseberry, blackberry, blackcurrant, strawberry and grapes. In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers previously included rose hips and almonds in the list.
Interesting! The northernmost almond orchard was created at the Institute of Horticulture of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences near Kyiv. Modern varieties of Spanish selection were chosen for it, which are in stable demand due to self-fertility and high yield. The launch of this project coincided with the expansion of state support programs.
Such assistance is not taxable, and the money can be spent on paying invoices to suppliers for materials and equipment included in the estimate. However, the grant recipient is obliged to :
- create a certain number of jobs;
- to carry out activities for at least 5 years from the date of completion of the plantation project;
-
pay taxes to the budget, etc.
What documents do you need to prepare?
First of all, farmers should prepare their own planting project . A sample document can be found at the link . It should contain an explanatory note, a master plan, cost estimates, and a working project passport.
When considering your application, attention will be paid to the suitability of the crop and region, the area and purpose of the land plot, the number of seedlings per hectare. In addition, for most plants, an irrigation system with a specified water intake source, as well as the installation of trellises, is mandatory.
How to apply to the Department of Justice?
-
Log in to the portal with the key of an individual entrepreneur or the head of a legal entity from the Unified State Register of Enterprises.
-
Fill out the application online, attaching a scanned copy of the planting plan signed by the developer.
-
Sign with an electronic signature and send.
The Ministry of Economy will process the request within 15 working days after the deadline for submitting grant applications, and Diya will notify you of the result. If approved, you must contact an Oschadbank branch within 7 working days to open an account and conclude an agreement to receive funds.
Who cannot participate in the program?
However, not all individual entrepreneurs and legal entities can count on state support. Entrepreneurs who:
-
conduct economic activities in Russia or Belarus, in temporarily occupied lands or territories of active hostilities; are under sanctions;
-
have debts to the budget, a bankruptcy case has been initiated or a court decision has been made to hold them criminally liable for a corruption offense;
-
engage in the production or sale of weapons, tobacco products, and alcoholic beverages – except for the production (without added alcohol) and sale of grape and fruit wines, honey drinks, etc.
Have such grants already been issued in 2026?
Acceptance of applications resumed on February 2, so it is already known that the first 11 orders worth 40.5 million hryvnias have been signed.
In total, the state budget provides 465 million hryvnias for the implementation of the program in 2026. The program is being implemented with financial support from the EU within the framework of the Ukraine Facility.

Taras Vysotsky
Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine
We have restored one of the important programs to support farmers – grants for gardens and greenhouses. For farmers, this is an opportunity to invest in long-term projects, create new jobs in communities, and develop the production of value-added products. In the current conditions, this is an important tool to support farmers and strengthen the resilience of the agricultural sector.
As a reminder, Ukrainian farmers are calling for a review of the current state program to compensate for the cost of agricultural machinery. They have appealed to the Minister of Economy to allow the purchase of used machinery for frontline areas within its framework.
