The maximum height of a fence depends on its location, according to the State Building Code.
Currently, the regulations state that:
- the maximum height of the fence between adjacent areas, that is, neighbors, is 2 meters;
- But on the street side, the barrier can be a maximum of 2.5 meters.
Please note! It is also important to familiarize yourself with the requirements established by the local council (village or city). After all, government officials have the right to regulate the height of fences by approving local development rules. Note that this only supplements state regulations.
It is important to understand that not everything can be fenced, but only:

Can I install a higher fence around my house?
It is impossible to legalize a fence that is higher than the established standards. Such a fence will have to:

- for ordinary citizens, the fine varies from 340 to 1,360 hryvnias;
- and for entrepreneurs and officials – from 850 hryvnias to 1,700 hryvnias.
