Moldova has decided to resume imports of Ukrainian chicken

Representatives of the State Service for Food and Consumer Protection of Ukraine held talks with the National Food Safety Agency of Moldova on the prompt resumption of exports of Ukrainian poultry meat. The State Service for Food and Consumer Protection reported on the results of the meeting.

As noted, the dialogue between the parties took place in a constructive and substantive format. The participants discussed technical issues and also agreed on a clear algorithm of actions that will allow the supply of frozen and chilled poultry meat to be resumed after its safety is confirmed.

To resume exports, it is envisaged that enterprises that have the right to supply products to European Union countries and operate on the principle of a closed production cycle (in particular, have their own slaughterhouses) will be able to resume supplies after laboratory tests are conducted. In particular, 10 blood serum samples must be tested in European Union laboratories.

The meat will meet all requirements

The State Food and Consumer Protection Service noted that after confirming that the products comply with established safety standards, the export of both frozen and chilled poultry meat will be opened for the relevant enterprise.

The department emphasized that such a step will become an important signal of the stability and reliability of the Ukrainian agricultural sector.

After the resumption of exports, the competent authorities of Ukraine and Moldova also plan to additionally agree on the conditions and frequency of further laboratory tests.

Ukraine has already taken practical steps to unblock supplies: the necessary number of samples have been taken and sent to European Union laboratories for research.
