Despite the decline in agricultural exports, grain exports are growing

In January 2026, Ukraine exported 5.0 million tons of agro-industrial products, which is slightly less than in December. Against the background of the general decline, only grain crops, primarily corn, showed growth.

In January 2026, the volume of exports of agro-industrial complex products amounted to 5.0 million tons, which is 0.8% less than in the previous month, the Ukrainian Agrarian Business Club reports. The only commodity group that showed growth was grain crops.

At the same time, exports of all other types of agricultural products decreased. The main export item remains corn. The largest share in the export structure was occupied by grain crops – 3.4 million tons, of which 83% was corn and 16% was wheat. Compared to December, grain exports increased by 13%.

Oilseed exports amounted to 351.7 thousand tons, which is 32% less than a month earlier. This group was dominated by soybeans with a share of 63%, followed by rapeseed – 35% and sunflower – 1%.

Vegetable oil supplies decreased by 6% to 479.7 thousand tons. The basis of exports was sunflower oil with a share of 82%, while rapeseed oil occupied 10% and soybean oil – 7%.

Export volumes of oilcake after the extraction of vegetable oils decreased by 32% and amounted to 411.0 thousand tons. Of these, 73% was sunflower oilcake, 27% was soybean oilcake.

Please note! Other types of agricultural products were exported in the amount of 349.9 thousand tons, which is 15% less compared to the previous month.

Africa can become a driver of Ukraine's agricultural exports, but business lacks guarantees
