The Ukrainian market has recorded a decrease in prices for greenhouse cucumbers due to an increase in the supply of local products. At the same time, demand from retail chains and wholesalers has weakened, which is putting additional pressure on the cost of vegetables.
Why have cucumbers become cheaper now?
Prices for greenhouse cucumbers in Ukraine have begun to decline, analysts from the EastFruit project report. Market participants attribute the trend to an increase in the supply of new cucumbers from Ukrainian farms, as well as a decrease in consumer activity.
According to experts, almost all stationary greenhouse plants in the country have already started selling new products, which has significantly affected the balance of supply and demand. After the price adjustment, greenhouse cucumbers are sold at 125-170 hryvnias per kilogram. This is an average of 11% cheaper than at the end of the last working week.

An additional factor in the price decline was weakening demand. Wholesale companies and retail chains reduced purchases of Ukrainian cucumbers this week, explaining this by the slow pace of retail sales.
Please note! Despite the current decline, prices for greenhouse cucumbers remain approximately 50% higher than at the end of February 2025. Market participants do not rule out further price reductions, as the supply of local products continues to grow, while sales levels remain subdued.
