In Ukraine, prices for last year's white cabbage have begun to rise due to a reduction in supply. Demand is gradually increasing, which is pushing producers to review prices.

Supply decreases and prices increase

Since the beginning of the week, Ukrainian farmers have been gradually increasing selling prices for white cabbage of the 2025 harvest. According to EastFruit analysts, the key reason was the seasonal shortage of products on the market.

Currently, supply has significantly decreased, while demand, on the contrary, has begun to grow. In such conditions, farms that still have stocks have been able to increase the prices of their products.

As of today, cabbage is sold for between 4 and 10 hryvnias per kilogram, which is approximately 25% more expensive than at the end of the last working week.

Despite the increase, prices are significantly lower than last year

Despite the current price increase, cabbage on the Ukrainian market remains significantly cheaper than a year ago – by an average of 85%. This indicates a general surplus of production in previous periods and a weaker price background.

However, market participants do not rule out a further increase in prices. The reason is the rapid reduction in vegetable stocks on farms, which may further limit supply in the near future.

Important! Under such conditions, prices may continue to move upwards, especially until new products appear on the market.
