Ukrainian legislation provides that every citizen has the right to receive a land plot of a certain size for use for the appropriate purpose. However, some categories of citizens have preferential conditions for receiving a plot.
Who can be given 2 hectares of land now?
Every Ukrainian who has reached the age of majority can privatize up to 2.28 hectares of land for free, Channel 24 reports, citing the Land Code of Ukraine. The land you receive can later be sold at your discretion.

During the period of martial law in Ukraine, the free transfer of state and municipal land to private ownership, the granting of permits for the development of land management documentation for the purpose of such free transfer, and the development of such documentation are prohibited. The procedure for obtaining land is possible only after the end of martial law.
How many hectares can be allocated and for what purposes?
Participants in hostilities, persons with disabilities as a result of war, and family members of the deceased have the right to priority allocation of land plots for individual housing construction, gardening, and horticulture. However, a land plot is allocated only if the person has not previously exercised the right to privatize land for the appropriate purpose.

From state and municipal lands, it is possible to obtain a plot of land free of charge in the following sizes:
- up to 2 hectares for personal farming ;
- up to 12 acres for gardening ;
- for the construction and maintenance of a residential building , outbuildings and structures in villages – no more than 25 acres (in settlements – up to 15 acres, in cities – up to 10 acres);
- up to 10 acres for individual summer cottage construction;
- for the construction of garages – no more than 1 hundred square meters;
- for farming – in the amount of the land share determined for members of agricultural enterprises located in the territory of the village, settlement, city council where the farm is located.
How to start the procedure for obtaining land?
Persons interested in obtaining free ownership of a land plot from state or municipal property must apply to the relevant executive body or local government body that transfers land plots from state or municipal property to private ownership.
You need to select the necessary plot on the cadastral map and contact the territorial departments of the State Geocadastre, village, settlement, city council at the location of the plot.

How to sell a leased land share in Ukraine?
