“As for the situation in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra: now almost 100 coronavirus cases have been confirmed on the monastery’s territory and, unfortunately, there are two fatal ones,” he said in a video address posted on the President’s Office page on Facebook on April 14.
“We wish all the patients a speedy recovery,” he added.

According to Zelensky, the situation demonstrates that the coronavirus infects anyone, regardless of nationality, gender or religion, and one should not take this virus irresponsibly.
The president once again urged Ukrainians to stay home on Orthodox Easter, which is marked on April 19 this year.
As UNIAN reported earlier, over 90 confirmed coronavirus cases were reported at the monastery as of April 13. It was closed for quarantine.
Three monks have already died, and the monastery’s head, Metropolitan Pavel, who was a COVID-19 suspected case and was self-isolating, was hospitalized over a rapid deterioration.
