Thermal cameras produced by Hikvision will be supplied by the Intervro system integrator. They were bought by the municipal enterprise Informatika, which administers all the CCTV networks in the capital city. It is subordinate to Kyiv City State Administration’s Department of Information and Communications Technologies.

The cameras, which could be used for temperature measurement, are expected to be installed on April 17-25.

Data from the cameras will be transmitted, in particular, to the National Police, the Municipal Guard, and the State Emergency Service. They will also be used to gather statistical information for Kyiv City State Administration’s Health Department.

“This will allow us to quickly identify people with high body temperature in supermarkets, pharmacies and other crowded places. In addition, the functionality of the cameras includes facial detection. This will enable law enforcement officers to record violations of the self-isolation regime by citizens who are required to observe it,” head of the Health Department Yuriy Nazarov said.
