The highest death tolls are reported in Italy, Spain, and the United States.

As many as 40,708 deaths from the novel COVID-19 coronavirus have been reported worldwide.

The data as of 08:28 p.m. local time on March 31 was provided by the Coronavirus COVID-19 Global Cases dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.

The highest death tolls have been reported in Italy (12,428 people), Spain (8,269), the United States (3,416), China (3,309), France (3,024), and Iran (2,898).

The total number of globally confirmed coronavirus cases has hit 826,222; of them, 174,115 have already recovered.

As of 10:00 Kyiv time on March 31, Ukraine had confirmed 549 cases, including 13 deaths and eight recoveries.
