Svyatoslav Vakarchuk baptized his son: the musician's colleague named the names of his godparents

The frontman of the band “Okean Elzy” Svyatoslav Vakarchuk baptized his son. The sacrament took place in the Carpathians, in the church where the film “Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors” was filmed. This was announced by Vakarchuk’s friend and bandmate Milosh Yelich, who became the musician’s godfather, in a conversation with TSN.ua at the premiere of the film “Malevich”. At the same time, the boy’s godmother was director and music video maker Anna Buryachkova.

– We have been playing together for 21 years. And we don’t just work, we are friends. Moreover, I baptized his son. So you understand how close we are and how sincere we can be. In general, I have few people as close as my colleagues from Okean Elzy, well, except for my family, of course. And their opinion is always important to me, – the artist clarified. – He just came up and said: “Listen, will you agree to be my son’s godfather?” And, of course, I said “yes”, it’s an honor for me. The sacrament was in the Carpathians, in the church where the film “Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors” was filmed. We baptized together with Anya Buryachkova, who, by the way, shot several of our clips, and also a very beautiful friend of Slava’s wife.

For Yelich, Vakarchuk’s son is already the fifth godson, but he could not refuse his friend such an important decision.

The artist carefully hides his wife and children from prying eyes. The musician confirmed that in the summer of 2021 he had a son, Ivan, and a year later his daughter Solomiya was born. According to the media, the mother of Vakarchuk’s children is the co-owner of the Radioaktivefilm production company, Yevgeny Yatsuta. The singer himself did not comment on this information.
