Leading express delivery operator Nova Poshta is launching a large-scale structural reorganization aimed at increasing efficiency, co-owner Vladimir Popereshnyuk said.
“I have decided to audit the processes of all non-operational employees who are not directly involved with packages. I plan to separate these workers into two categories: those who support the day-to-day operations of the company, and those who contribute to its development and improvement. The latter will be prioritized and will receive more resources,” he wrote on Facebook on Monday.
Popereshnyuk noted that his goal is to identify redundant and inefficient processes that need to be eliminated.
“It is extremely important to eliminate everything that hinders the growth and development of the company. Although such efforts require considerable effort, such reforms should turn a good company into an even better one,” said the co-owner of Nova Poshta.
According to him, the need for change arose in light of the company's rapid growth.
“As the owner of Nova Poshta, I now face a serious challenge regarding the future of our company. We have grown significantly, becoming a large enterprise with almost 30,000 employees and a complex administrative and management structure,” Popereshnyuk explained.
He expressed concern about maintaining a flexible and innovative company capable of generating and implementing new ideas, rather than turning it into a cumbersome, bureaucratic corporation mired in “mindless office politics and a management approach focused solely on avoiding mistakes.”
In his opinion, a promising solution would be to create a corporate efficiency service similar to DOGE, the US government efficiency service headed by Elon Musk.
“However, a commercial company is not the same as a government agency, where firing bureaucrats often leads to improvements. In business, most employees are essential, and it is incredibly difficult to determine who can be fired without harming the company. Moreover, our main goal is not to reduce costs, but to expand the business, enter new markets and encourage innovation. These goals are incompatible with reducing the workforce,” Popereshnyuk said.
He stressed that it is extremely important for the company to maintain motivation, engagement and a culture of continuous team development.
