DTEK Grids in all regions plan to invest UAH 4.54 billion in the renovation, modernization and repair of energy facilities by the end of 2024.
"Despite the ongoing war, the company is taking all necessary measures to improve the reliability of power supply to the regions. Together with the authorities of Kyiv, Kyiv region, Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa regions, responsible services are preparing the infrastructure for possible tests so that residents have light and heat," the company said in a press release on Wednesday.
In preparation for the autumn-winter period, DTEK Grids power engineers have already repaired more than 5,000 facilities and 12,000 kilometers of power lines, and also updated and modernized 76 power facilities.
"Power engineers have repaired and tested almost 12,000 kilometers of overhead and cable power lines, and also modernized 153 km. They have already technically updated 76 power facilities – substations, transformers. In addition, they cleared 7,800 km of lines from branches, bushes and dead wood to prevent accidents," noted Alina Bondarenko, CEO of DTEK Grids.
In Donetsk region, all efforts of DTEK Donetsk Grids are aimed at restoring networks and equipment after constant shelling. In particular, in the first nine months of 2024, power engineers repaired more than 2,100 power facilities damaged as a result of military actions, resumed operation of almost 1,200 km of power lines, and cleared 527 km of power lines from branches.
DTEK Grids appealed to consumers with a request to use electricity wisely: transfer part of the consumption to night time, install a multi-zone meter, replace lamps with energy-efficient LED ones, give preference to those with energy efficiency class A, A+, A++, A+++ when choosing household appliances, and do not use several energy-intensive devices at the same time.
DTEK Grids develops the business of distributing electricity and operating power grids in Kyiv, Kyiv region, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk and Odesa regions. The company's centers serve 5.5 million households and 158,000 enterprises.
